Engineering internships in India: August 2026
In August 2026 we recorded 333 engineering internships in India from 132 employers. Only 23 of the 333 stated a stipend.
August 2026 · 333 postings · 132 employers · compiled on 7 October 2026. These figures will not change.
Who posted the most
Siemens posted the most engineering internships: 21 of 333.
132 employers posted at least one. The ten busiest posted 108 between them. Some post one role in several cities, so a count of postings is not a count of different jobs.

Who said what they pay
Only 23 of 333 postings stated a stipend.
None of the 10 busiest employers stated one on any posting. Where a monthly figure in rupees was stated (10 postings), the middle one was ₹25,000. A posting that states no figure is not necessarily unpaid; it means the pay was not on the listing.

How fast the applicant queue forms
About 1 in 5 already had 100 or more applicants when we found it.
Counted over the 213 postings that reported an applicant count, at the moment we first saw each one — usually within a few hours of it going up. 54% had fewer than 25.

Where the internships were
Bengaluru had 44% of them: 145 of 333.
By how the work is done: on-site 63%, hybrid 20%, remote 6%, out of all 333; 37 postings did not say.

How this was measured
We track engineering internships as they are published on public job boards and on companies' own careers pages, and record each one the first time we see it. This report counts every internship we first recorded in India between 1 August 2026 and 31 August 2026; entry-level full-time roles are not counted.
A posting only reaches the board if its employer is on a list we keep of companies we believe are real and actually pay interns. The list grows as we add employers, so a bigger total from one month to the next can mean a bigger list rather than a bigger market. Employers are counted as they stood on that list when this report was compiled.
What these numbers are not
- Not a census of every internship in India. It covers the employers that pass the gate above.
- “Did not state a stipend” does not mean unpaid. It means the posting carried no figure we could read.
- Applicant counts are the posting's own figure at the moment we found it, not a final count.
- Skills, city and work mode are read from the posting text, so something the posting does not mention is missing rather than absent.
